My husband Chris and I left the hustle and bustle of Chicago in 2004 to pursue our dream of raising our family in God’s Country. I arrived in Big Rapids with a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University, 10 years of management experience with Sodexo-Marriott and 11 years of service in the US Army reserves. I was also eight months pregnant with a toddler in tow and ready for a breath of fresh air. Fortunately Chris, a Nurse Anesthetist, has held a position at Big Rapids hospital for the past 13 years and the security of his job has allowed me to focus on raising my two children into their teens while exploring new personal and professional endeavors.
I’ve always had a creative and artistic side and I’ve never shied away from a new adventure. Still, I surprised myself early on with a talent for remodeling and decorating. From our first home in Chicago—a traditional Midwestern Bungalow—to our sprawling walkout riverfront home here in Big Rapids—I’ve challenged myself with various styles, themes, colors and settings. Friends were immediately inspired by my creativity and often asked for my suggestions. I quickly parlayed this gift into projects re-designing and re-decorating residential and commercial spaces throughout the Big Rapids community. Soon I was successfully consulting families on staging homes for their own showings; and that was when I decided to expand my talents into real estate.
I have an eye for value and potential in any home or property, as well as a heart of candid realism. I have a unique talent of finding what works and what doesn’t and helping others see that. I’m an optimistic visionary who loves to help others sort through the distractions and realize their dream. My own dream sits on two-and-half acres of wooded tranquility that fronts the lush banks of the Muskegon River; and I never tire of the view, the serenity or the blessing of our home.
